Updates

I should probably mention that all new hosting requests will be considered after this wednesday, not to worry…

We’ve started up a wiki at wiki.animeblogger.net, users who want to help to contribute(especially the ones who remember the oldies) are welcome to email us at support@animeblogger[dot]net to get an account. We’re keeping it private edit only for now to reduce the amount of trolls.

The new sign-up process is just about ready, probably be launching it within a couple of months.

We’ll still be doing periodic migrations for older blogs from our ‘older’ servers to the newer ones over the next few months.

Cheers,

AkaiWolf

New Hosting Plans

Greetings, fellow AnimeBloggers!

As you may have noticed from the past few newsletters, AnimeBlogger has been undergoing some changes. The next change in the works is the introduction of paid hosting services.

The plans will come into effect only on the 31st of August.

Now, you may ask, what do we mean by paid hosting services?

For a start, we will have the following plans available from the 1st of August 2011 onwards. (All prices are in USD)

‘ FTP Access Add-on: $1.00/mth

‘ Ad-free Upgrade: $1.50/mth

‘ HDD Storage (50G) Upgrade: $1.00/mth

‘ Bandwidth (50G) Upgrade: $1.00/mth

‘ Full Service Paid Hosting: $3.50/mth (Full Service Paid Hosting includes all of above add-ons and upgrades)

And if you sign up for a two-year period at once you get a discounted rate of $3.00/mth!

‘ Own Domain Add-on: Registration cost of the domain

For a limited time (until December 2011), if you sign up for any Full Service plan, you can get a 1-year domain (.com/.net/.org) registration for $6.00 only! (Most registrars charge $10.00) You also get free WHOIS protection by DreamHost!

The limitations for each site (before add-ons) will be: 1GB HDD Storage, 3GB Bandwidth Transfer/Month.

We will be contacting our current blog owners within the month about their sites. If you’d like to sign up, contact us at support[at]animeblogger[dot]net or wait for our new sign-up process to be ready.

Network Migration

Hello fellow AnimeBloggers!

We’d like to announce that there will be scheduled downtime for the entire AnimeBlogger network while we move our core platform to our newer host this week. Site migration and Downtime will begin Fifth of July, at 12 noon (GMT+10). DNS Migration will begin tonight, Fourth of July, at midnight (GMT+10). Users may not notice the downtime as a result of DNS prorogation, but if you do notice posts and content missing please drop us an email at support@animeblogger.net
It is generally advisable for our users not to add new posts and content until they receive the ‘completed migration’ email notification from us, which we would be sending out after each successful blog migration. Your accesses will remain the same, subject to policy changes which will be announced soon.
We expect to be able to finish migration of the network by this weekend, and will keep users updated via our facebook group (which can be found at https://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_135773763167943), and our twitter account @animeblogger, and the hashtag #animeblogger. We also have a new status blog up at http://status.animeblogger.net that you can follow.
We will be contacting you again regarding further changes to our policy that was mentioned previously in the newsletter.

Keep an eye out for our announcements via Twitter, FaceBook and The Status Blog and look forward to our new face!

Thanks and regards,
The AnimeBlogger.Net Staff.
